Route 148 converted to New Routemaster Operation.

On 15th February 2014 the 148 was converted to New Routemaster operation, an initial peak vehicle requirement of 25 and additional spares this marks London United's second route being operated by this type after Route 9.

The 148 traces it history back to 2002, introduced at the same time as the Congestion Charge. The 148 provides new links between Camberwell, Elephant & Castle, Waterloo, Victoria, Hyde Park, Notting Hill Gate, Shepard's Bush and White City some previously unconnected for a very long time.

The 148 has had numerous batches of buses in its time, first being allocated Volvo Alexander vehicles before receiving new Scania Omnicity. Many other types could of been found on the 148 such as Wright Volvos, East Lancs Scania and the odd appearance of Trident Alexanders.

The 148 is currently operated from Shepards Bush Garage and operates in One Person Operation which means no conductor and no open platform will be available at all times.
