Big Win for Stagecoach London - Route 498/499 to Stagecoach.

Route 498 Runs between Romford, Queen Hospital - Brentwood with a PVR of 6 & Route 499 Heath Park Estate to Gallows Corner , Tesco with a PVR of 7.To Start the post of , I will start with Route 498, Route 498 contract was last awarded to First London with Enviro200s. and then in the middle of the contract the route was converted to Double Decker Operation.

In 2012 , First London handed the contracts of Route 193,368, 498 and School Routes over to Blue Triangle with their existing vehicles for 193/368 and 3 E400s for Route 498.

Route 498 received a PVR Increase and some older Volvo B7TL/ Gemini2s were transferred over to BE to cover for the increase.

In 2013, It was annouced that Route 67 was won by Arriva London which resulted in Go Ahead selling of the PDNs and sending some of the PVNs to Rainham (BE)

In 2014, It was annouced that Route 54/75 were lost to Stagecoach London which resulted in the buses from Route 54/75 without any more , so it was decided to transfer most of them to Blue Traingle (872- 896) with 897-899 staying at London Central & 870/871 at Docklands. which resulted in Go Ahead selling the PVNs which were based at Rainham (BE) to Ensignbus.

In late 2014, it was announced that Blue Triangle had lost the contract to run Route 498 to Stagecoach London with Brand new ADL Diesel Enviro400MMC and would run out of Romford Garage which resulted in Route 103 moving to Rainham (BE). But due to the delay in new vehicles arrving , Route 498s Contract would start of using 55 plate TAs till New buses were commissioned and entered service.

Now that the 498 has been covered, Next will be the 499.

Route 499 Heath Park Estate to Gallows Corner , Tesco with a PVR of 7 and was operated by: Arriva Kent Thameside from Grays Garage (GY) Using Enviro200s & Wright Cadets.

In late 2014, it was announced that Arriva Kent Thameside had lost the contract to run Route 499 to Stagecoach London with Brand new ADL Diesel Enviro200MMC and would run out of Romford Garage which resulted in Route 103 moving to Rainham (BE). But due to the delay in new vehicles arrving , Route 499s Contract would start of using 11 plate E200s from Route 296 and with the extra E200 on loan from Barking (BK) 36284) till New buses were commissioned and entered service. As a result of Route 499 using Buses from 296, it meant that the 296 was converted to Double Decker operation tempory from displaced Tridents from WH which were replaced by the introduction of Scanias on route 97 dispatched from PD's Route 177 which now got new ADL Volvo B5LH Enviro400MMC Hybrid's.
